Create You.com Finance Research
Create citation-backed research over You.com's finance index, including fundamentals, equity and commodity prices, private-company data, alternative signals, macro indicators, SEC filings, analyst coverage, and financial news. `deep` costs $110/1,000 calls and targets under 120s; `exhaustive` costs $500/1,000 and targets under 300s. The default self-serve limit is 5 requests/second. Finance Research does not support `source_control` or `output_schema`; use general Research for those controls.
Create You.com Research
Run cited multi-step You.com research synchronously or create a background task. Synchronous and background submissions share the documented 10 requests/second limit; You.com does not publish a separate background-task concurrency cap. Effort pricing and typical latency per 1,000 calls are: lite $12 and <10s; standard $50 and about 10-30s; deep $100 and <120s; exhaustive $450 and <300s; frontier $1,200 and 30-12000s (p50 300s). Background mode supports deep, exhaustive, and frontier only, and is mandatory for frontier. Structured output supports arbitrary schemas within a restricted subset: object root, depth 5, 100 properties, 500 enum values, 7,500 large-enum string characters, and 25,000 total schema-string characters; all object properties must be required and additionalProperties must be false. Structured output is unavailable with lite.
Fetch Webpage Contents
Fetch clean content for up to 10 known webpage URLs. Contents currently costs $1 per 1,000 fetched pages and is limited to 10 requests per second on the documented self-serve plan.
Get Account Balance
Return the remaining You.com credit balance in cents. Personal API keys return the individual user's balance. API keys belonging to organization members return the organization's shared credit balance. You.com does not publish a separate numeric rate limit for this read-only endpoint.
Get Citation-Backed Answer
Synthesize a citation-backed answer from You.com web results. Answer currently costs $5 per 1,000 calls and is limited to 10 requests per second on the documented self-serve plan.
Get You.com Research Task
Poll both status metadata and the final result of a background research task. This is the non-streaming polling operation: it returns queued/running/completed/ failed/cancelled status, timestamps, original input, and errors. `result` is null while work is in progress and contains the cited final answer once completed. It does not open the provider's SSE endpoint. Research is limited to 10 requests/second; callers should poll accordingly. Frontier tasks may take 30-12000s (p50 300s).
Search You.com Images (Beta)
Search You.com Images. This endpoint is beta, unmaintained, and early-access-only; its response shape and availability may change without notice. You.com does not publish a price or numeric default rate limit for it. Large transformed thumbnails can return 403, so fall back to `thumbnail` or `image_url`. Do not build a production dependency on this action.
